Akihiro Watanabe

2017 Absolute winner of the IPO
2015-2017 Gold medalist for three consecutive years at the IPO and Japan Physics Olympiad
Akihiro is enthusiastically studying both physics and mathematics as he would like to look at theoretical physics from a mathematical perspective.

A certain experience made me seriously study physics when I was in junior high school. I was attracted to the approach of physics, which is to describe the real world with mathematical language. During high school, I mainly participated in science olympiads and was able to perform well in areas like mathematics, physics and geology.
Currently, I am in my first year at Natural Sciences I, College of Arts and Sciences Junior Division, University of Tokyo. I am committed to studying mathematics and physics everyday. I want to look at the theories of physics through mathematics and would like to become both a mathematician and a theoretical physicist. As an associate member of the Masason Foundation, I would like to be both inspired by others and be able to inspire them. I hope we can develop our capacities more deeply and widely together.
