I was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to New York City when I was ten years old. In college, I am taking courses in Computer Science (CS), Mathematics, and other STEM fields, in addition to expanding my knowledge and network in related fields through programming and venture organization on campus. I am also a violinist, and I studied for seven years under the world-famous violinist Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School from the age of 11. I am currently continuing my activities as a violinist by leading a string ensemble at Harvard as concertmaster and playing chamber music with other musicians on campus. Violin fingering and performing is similar to solving mathematical problems, and I feel that the brain functions and creativity that I constantly use as a violinist are deeply connected to worlds of mathematics, physics, and computer science. I hope to one day better the world by using my unique creativity derived from the combination of my violin and academic studies.
