2024: Was a member of the Sakura Particles high school team that became the first Japanese team to be selected as a winner for Beamline for Schools, a high school accelerator experiment competition run by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Helmholtz Association’s Deutsche Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), thus winning the right to conduct accelerator experiments at CERN

Ever since I can remember, I have always been interested in how our universe was made, and what it is made of. Currently, I am doing research on methods to measure elementary particles, cosmic rays, radiation. In the fall of 2024, the team I am part of, “Sakura Particles”, became the first Japanese team to be selected as a winner in Beamline for Schools, an accelerator experiment competition for high school students. As a result, we have been invited to CERN, the world’s largest accelerator facility, to conduct experiments over the span of two weeks. In the future, I would like to become a researcher who works to unravel the mysteries of elementary particles, which are thought to be the smallest units that make up our world.
