Profile of the founder

Masayoshi Son

Masayoshi Son is the Representative Director, Corporate Officer, Chairman & CEO of SoftBank Group Corp. (SBG), a strategic investment holding company that aspires to drive the AI Information Revolution. Founded in 1981, SBG and its Group companies cover a range of technologies, including AI, smart robotics, advanced telecommunications, internet services, and clean energy technology; Arm, the world’s leading semiconductor IP provider that plays a crucial role at the very center of the evolution of AI; the SoftBank Vision Funds, which are investing to help extraordinary entrepreneurs transform industries and shape new ones with the power of AI.

Mr. Son is also Chairman and Director of Arm, and Board Director, Founder of SoftBank Corp. (the Japanese domestic telecommunications company).

In December 2016, the Masason Foundation was established to provide an environment that enables youth with high aspirations and exceptional talents to develop their skills, and to support those who will create the future.
